Grid Forward. Rebranding, Multi-Platform Marketing, Events & Podcasts

The Challenge

Grid Forward, a nonprofit industry organization, connected stakeholders in the energy system to define, fund, and roll out grid innovation and modernization, enabling a cleaner, more resilient grid. Its focus and membership were at the forefront of renewable and distributed energy sources and solutions, involving emerging, complex, and rapidly evolving technologies. Grid Forward sought marketing support that could navigate the multifaceted market, effectively communicating the value of membership and event participation.

The Solution

Since 2018, Publitek has partnered with Grid Forward to deliver impactful events and initiatives. We spearheaded a rebranding effort, creating a new website, materials, and online tools to showcase the energy market’s diversity. During the pandemic, we transitioned events to
a successful virtual format. Collaborating with Grid Forward, we developed event communications, boosting attendance across the western US and Canada.

We’ve also built Grid Forward’s regional stakeholder database, managed their announcements and monthly newsletter, expanded outreach through LinkedIn and Twitter (X), and launched a podcast series to share industry leader insights.

Data-driven Results

Publitek’s partnership with Grid Forward has doubled their membership, significantly increasing funding and industry reach. Flagship GridFWD events now sell out, attracting 40+ sponsors and diverse attendees, from U.S. Department of Energy and state officials to utility CEOs and media like Bloomberg NEF and Woods Mackenzie. The Grid Forward Chats podcast has over 10,000 downloads, featuring guests from US Senators and governors to industry regulators and innovators. We’ve also helped Grid Forward publish influential guidance on federal grid infrastructure funding, used by lawmakers.
