PMN today received a phone call from John Walko, declining an interview with a client. And the reason… John will be taking early retirement from UBM TechInsights / EE Times.
As he put it, he wishes “to go a few months (9 to be precise) before I get my bus pass anyway.”
John has been in the industry longer than many. His 23 years have included writing for Electronics Times as News Editor, Deputy Editor and Editor, a stint launching Communications Systems Worldwide in between, then launching CommsDesign.com and working on EE Times as part of the CMP US organisation.
His retirement takes effect from the end of the month. With holiday this means that tomorrow (22nd) is John’s last day. Small amounts of freelance may beckon. We wish him all the best.
