The end of the year always means that two tradeshows are looming large on the horizon. January sees the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. This is followed in February by the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The two shows are amongst the most prominent in the media calendar and attract journalists from across the globe.
At last year’s Mobile World Congress, in particular, there was a general feeling that, because exhibitors have to book a year in advance, 2010’s show would highlight the extent of the recession.
At Publitek, we saw a marked decline in the number of journalists attending certain tradeshows. It will be interesting to see if this will also be true for CES, Mobile World Congress and, indeed, Electronica which takes place in November.
