EE Times’ Designlines will be moved under the EDN banner, Paul Miller, CEO of EE Times Group told Publitek News last week. Paul intends to develop EDN as the “heads down” medium from which engineers can gather in-depth technical information. The implication is that EE Times will focus more on news and industry analysis. This won’t be the only change in yet another re-structuring of the EE Times web site, coming just weeks after the last major relaunch. We’re told that UBM bought Canon Communications for its medical shows, so EDN coming under EE Times’ control was incidental to the deal. Now Paul Miller has to figure out how to find a place in advertiser schedules for both. It’s going to be an interesting challenge. We have no further news yet regarding consolidation of editorial content or if all existing staff will be retained.
