UK based, IOP Publishing has sadly ceased the publication of several high tech titles across the optoelectronics, fibre optic communications and compound semiconductor sectors.
In the process, 15 people have been made redundant including journalists, editors, sales and production staff.
According to one former staff member, IOP also chose the week it made 15 people redundant to announce its new recruitment portal.
The irony wasn’t lost on PMN’s contact, although I doubt he saw the funny side of it.
