Social media giant, Facebook have announced an update for the Pages section of their website. Members with business/fan Pages can now upgrade the look and feel of their Pages to a layout more similar to those of personal profiles.

The upgrade features a host of changes but the one that arguably most people would have liked to have seen seems to have slipped through the net.  The widely popular Facebook profile header hack has been creatively used on many personal profiles to add a little bit of style and flair. Unfortunately, this capability has not been included in this latest update, sparking debates amongst community members.

The profile hack provides Page administrators with a great way to create an eye-catching attention grabber or to communicate with fans in a more visual manner, so it is disappointing that this has been left out. However, whilst you can upgrade your Page to the new layout already, the design isn’t officially launched until March 2011; so there may still be time for Facebook to listen to the protests and give the people what they want!
