Advantage Business Media is a media company serving the B-to-B industry in the areas of pharmaceutical, medical, electronics and engineering, with over 45 years of print and digital publishing history in our brands. We are currently looking for an Associate Editor to join our team serving the wireless electronics engineering sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This highly motivated and self-actualizing person will help create the editorial for an industry publication covering the field of wireless electronics engineering and development. A roster of industry contacts is a plus, but not required. This dynamic individual must have an interest in cutting-edge technology as well as hands-on editorial skills as well as a working knowledge of the networking opportunities provided through industry blogs, Twitter, podcasts and other web social-media tools.
This position is accountable for soliciting and editing articles from industry players, aggregating and writing news items, blogs, and other related content for the publication’s website and e-newsletters; assisting in the production of the print magazine; and conducting research on the market, industry news, and developing technologies. The position involves balancing numerous projects and meeting various deadlines. The position involves communication with scientists and other industry professionals, and may include travel to conferences and meetings to stay up to date on relevant technology developments and industry trends. Applicants should have experience with MS Office, and Outlook; familiarity with InDesign, Photoshop, basic HTML, and/or other Web authoring tools, web development, and page layout skills a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level – A Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or a tech-related field, with related experience working in or covering the electronics and wireless industry a plus.
The job will be based in Silicon Valley or the New York Tri-state area.
