If you’re involved in B2B electronics or engineering PR and marketing, this update on changes at Penton Media, including exclusive news not yet released by the publisher, will be of interest.
Lee Teschler leaves Machine Design
After 37 years with Penton Media, Leland (Lee) Teschler will be leaving to become the executive editor for the Design World network of websites, online resources and print publications. Lee started at Penton in the late 70s as a staff editor for Machine Design before working his way up the ladder to the chief editor in 2006.
Richard Gawel leaves Electronic Design
Richard Gawel is moving on from his role as managing editor of Electronic Design, Electronic Design Europe and Mobile Development & Design. Richard spent 16 years at Penton. So far he hasn’t announced where he will be going, but we will keep you posted with any developments.
Michael Bowne will be taking Richard’s place, and will be responsible for copy editing and production design for all the key design and manufacturing publications in his new role.
Lou Frenzel Retires
Lou Frenzel has retired as the communications editor at Electronic Design although there is sure to be the occasional guest blog from him cropping up online.
Content sharing
Penton will also be announcing a change to the way news and information is presented online. The titles that fall under the design and manufacturing umbrella will be sharing content across the different platforms to make it easy to access and search for all engineers. This will include content from Electronic Design, Engineering TV, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Machine Design, Medical Design, Microwaves & RF, and Power Electronics.
