Amid the increasing pressures on print publishing and the exponential growth of digital media, The Engineer has today announced that the print version of its publication will be closing after more than 150 years in circulation.

As one of the world’s oldest and most recognized professional journals, it is a sad, yet inevitable day to see this British institution come to an end. However, whilst the printed edition is to be closed, The Engineer will continue to exist in an online capacity. “The Engineer will live on and, we believe, continue to grow,” stated Jon Excell, Editor of the popular magazine. “We have big plans for the website, including making more of our vast and fascinating historical archive, building on our news and in-depth coverage and expanding our video content.”
