UBM has issued a press release about setting up a new company and merging its “electronics properties” from UBM and Canon Communications. With the secret help of one of UBM’s own editors, Publitek managed to obtain a translation from the corporate language of the press release into English. As a result, we understand that EDN and Test & Measurement World will not be rolled into EE Times but will remain as independent brands, at least for now. Paul Miller, CEO of UBM Electronics and UBM Canon Publishing Group exclusively revealed that “The Canon electronics portfolio is a terrific fit with the EE Times Group portfolio.” That’s good then.
